Pausing for just a moment

In about seven days' time I have gone from wearing winter layers in northern California, to working on my suntan in the parched lands of the southwest.

The sun has gone down over Bisbee, AZ.  I sit in a coffee shop, finishing the bare minimum of internet computer business.  I just answered some interview questions for Saturday night's Tucson VaudVil show.  And I'm about to double check train schedules for how best to get to NOLA and back--and trying to decide where I want to be after that. 

As ever, the choices for my future are splayed before me, like a fan of electric blue path ways, tales of shooting stars calling be to follow--which one will I take?  In this moment I remind myself there is no wrong answer, no wrong choice. . . 

But getting distracted is a real thing. 
And hesitation is a real thing too--probably worse than distraction. 
And I know what I want:  perform my music; travel; learn how to be funny and perform more theatrics in my songs and more songs in my theatrics and try and figure out how best to get these things I got to the people who need 'em most.  

If I could, I'd go to NOLA for a month, then to the Northeast again, catch up with the magic in NYC, visit other states, new friends in Pennsylvania and old friends in Chicago before screeching back into the PNW again for summer.

What else to say?  I need to leave this coffee shop real soon.  So much to say really.  Since last I posted I've met several magical strangers.  And I basked naked in the warm waves on Black's Beach outside Santa Cruz before making my way into Arizona.   The ocean elongates time--I can be on the beach for a few minutes and it is as if an eternity has passed.  But the desert slows things--I can be in the desert for weeks and it will seem but a few days.
